Augrabies Falls National Park lies 120 km west of Upington and 40 km northwest of Kakamas on a tarred access route. The Khoi people called it ‘Aukoerebis’, the place of the Great Noise, referring to the Orange River thundering its way downwards for 60 meters in a spectacular waterfall. Easily accessed through an extensive network of boardwalks (some are wheelchair friendly) the falls are now illuminated at night. The caravan and camping sites are set in a shaded area, and all sites have power points with ablution and barbecue facilities.
