Ford Everest and bushtrailer LED Taillights not working
We bought a different tow vehicle, Ford Everest.
The previous vehicles Toyota Hilux and Hyundai Creta towed the Bushtrailer and the lights worked perfect.
Once we hitched the 2020 Ford Everest 2.2 the trailer lights does not work at all.
We checked the basics and after asking around it came to the conclusion that we need a Ford T6 piggy back load reducer from Bosal (TAC550CPA -FORD -T6 Approved) to be fitted into towhitch elec socket.
We have done that and still no lights working on the bushtrailer.
Any advice please?

You will have to do progressive fault finding. Make sure the caravan or trailer is hitched to the tow vehicle to ensure a proper earth between vehicle and caravan/trailer.
1. Try to connect the tow vehicle to another trailer and see if the lights work. This will eliminate the fault being on the tow vehicle side, if it works. If it's not working the fault has been identified. Similar to connecting the trailer to another vehicle.
2. You will only need the load gadget if the lights on the bush trailer are LED lights. The resistance on LED's are very low and then the vehicle management system does not recognize the trailer being plugged in.
3. One of the pins on the tow plug is an Earth. Usually when all lights does not work that earth is the problem. I had a problem this past weekend where the brake lights on caravan did not work. All I did was cleaning the contact pins on the caravan plug with a piece of fine sand paper.
GOD IS ALTYD TEENWOORDIG
Sonder Jesus is ek niks! ! ! !

I bought a LED trailer light resistor plug adaptor from Takealot for R499 and it worked ,if you are in Cape Town you are more than welcome to try mine.
Thanks to all input, got it sorted.
Bought wireless taillights for future breakdowns.
I replaced LED lights with normal bulb taillights.
All Fords and Freelanders are happy now.

I had the same problem on my ex-Swift when fitted LED's.
After fault finding, the problem was at the number plate lights, which were operate on normal 12 Volt Globes.
After converted them into LED, problem solved.
The major factor is that you hitched your Van or Trailer while doing this Job.
I will send a photo afterwards.
