Lang staan in kaapstad area
Lance have you tried Van Zyls in Kuilsrivier, speak to John I know of someone who i'm sure stood there for more than 3 months. However I do not know what he arranged with John. We stayed there many times, most recent was last year for a month on our way north. If you can get in here you would be very comfortable, and secure.
Another option may be Haardekraaltjie in Durbanville when we last camped there they had a section which was more permanent. Not sure what the condition of the park is at the moment as that was many years ago but worth a try.
Hardekraaltjie I think can be very noisy It is situated between Voortrekker rd and a railway line on the back Ive never stayed there but was told its very noisy
Have you tried Ou Skip in Melkbos ??
As far as I know Ou Skip do not allow long stay camping only monthly but Zonnekus holiday resort and caravan park off the N7 outside Melkbosstrand possibly do allow long stay.
Ek hou die draad mooi dop
Van Zylrus vra R4950 per maand
Zonnekus vra R5700 permanent
I personally wouldnt use Zonnekus at Morningside its very run down and not so lekka Just off the N7 and also noisy with all the trucks I think it closed down at one stage and reopened for permanents Im open to correction
We caravanned at both Hardekraaltjie and Van Zylsrus a few years ago, and without a doubt I would settle for Van Zyls.
Hardekraaltjie in the middle of Bellville close to the main road, so it is noisy throughout the day and up until late at night.
Van Zylsrus overlooks the adjacent golf course and is a short drive to all the shops etc in Brackenfell.

We have stayed over at Hardekraaltjie several times now. It is on Voortrekker road in Belville. You would think that the main road will be a concern for noise but by 19h30 at night there was barely a vehicle on the road. We stayed there during December holidays while visiting my in-laws.
Hardekraaltjie has pension rates even during peak season so contact them. Once the booking office allowed youngsters to camp there........ but did they get it from the long campers. The youngsters was asked to leave.
Central to most areas in the Cape.
Sonder Jesus is ek niks! ! ! !
I don't see camping in stellenbosch area, are there any?
Lance There used to be a park between Stell and SsWest i think it was called Pine view or Pine park or something but it has closed down It was in a pine forest and very isolated

Benkie, I think you are thinking of Mountain Breeze and yes it has closed down
Van Zyls is not far from Stellenbosch - the other alternative is Bergplaas

I have not camped there so cannot comment on the facilities etc.
We divided our year up between a private off the grid farm in Tulbagh @ R2800 pm 150kms from CT , Kardosie [ Citrusdal] @ R3200 pm 140kms from CT and Leentjiesklip [ langabaan ] @ R2300 pm 140kms from CT and explored cape town from the above.
Hi George, that's very interesting,we have been langstaan camping last 5 months at night sky camping about 15km from Bonnievale,R2000 pm, including holidays, best value for money for sure, only 4 langstaan sites available, with 1 to 3 months campers occasionally camping. The hunt for something similar closer to capetown still goes on.
Lance, what is the road like getting into Night Sky Camping, and what are the facilities like - do you have any pictures ?

NOBODY understands what is going on at the Sea Breeze Caravan park. It used to be an absolute GEM! Big pool, lovely hall and beautiful facilities. Completely covered by pine trees. `n Couple of years ago I had a birthday function there, lovely!
AND SUDDENLY! CLOSED by the municipality. There are a number of permanents living in lovely chalets, long after the park was closed they STILL did not pay anything. We spoke to the people who managed the park for many years and even they were still living in the house, apparently for free.
There is a lot of talk about the park's possible future, some talk about a new hotel, others mention low cost housing. The location of the park lends itself to something FIVE STAR, next to the Stellenbosch airfield and nestled between beautiful vineyards.
somehow I smell a rat. That property is worth millions.
We camped there on our very first December trip arount 1985 I think. The park was quite new and very basic but quite pleasant then.
