Exclusive Maintenance Caravan Fridge
The fridge inside the caravan is currently working fine, but I had one small issue with it. It was loose inside the caravan cabinet. I could stand in front of it and pushed it back about 10mm at the top end of it. I saw at the back through the vent that there was some kind of steel bracket properly bolted to the cabinet but the fridge was held in place with tech screws you use to screw down the IBR on the beams of a carport. I replaced the tech screws and I installed the roof washers. This held the fridge in position but it was clear that during towing these tech screw will come loose over time.
So I did what was done by Jurgens in the Jurgens Classique we had before the Sensation Maia. I drilled holes on either side, through the side of the Fridge into the wooden Cabinet and installed long S/steel Allen Cap Screws. Bolted the fridge down properly. Now it will not move out of place at all.
Photo one shows the allen cap screw on the cabinet side.

Photo 2 shows the nut on the inside of the fridge.

There was someone on facebook that had the same issue with their fridge in the caravan and I suggested the solution there as well.

Skerp Leon
Leon, I also noticed that my fridge was loose and could be pushed back at the top. What had happened was that the self tap screws holding the fridge to the top rear steel cupboard brackets had pulled out of the fridge. The main reason they did this was that the fridge was not supported underneath in the front. Just the self tap screws prevented the fridge from tipping forward for about 10mm.
I cut a plank that filled the gap between the fridge and the steel floor mounting stand on which the fridge stands. I increased the self tap screw size from 5 to 6mm and re-attached it to the cupboard steel brackets. I then hammered the plank I had cut into the gap between the front bottom of the fridge and the floor mounting stand. Now it does not move at all.
I did this about 6 months ago and the fridge has not moved at all.
Paul
Good there we have another option to fix a loose fridge.
I will have a look to see if I need to fit a piece of wood, Paul. The better the support the less any movement can take place.

I have been searching for a replacement fridge for the caravan. Because the current one is doing the job but it never switches off. So its working very hard to just keep the fridge at correct temp. Fridge guy came and check the gas and the thermostat but its still doing what it must but at a cost.
So its time for a replacement before going on pension.
The initial idea was to install the Defy Solar options but as Paul here on the forum provided valuable info and pointed out they are actualy just a normal fridge with a control box to allow for the connection of solar and battery.
Then the search was on again and I saw the fridge that is generally installed inside the Gypsey Lite and the Gypsey Lite Impi. It is a Defy Solar Hybrid that can run of solar panels when the 220V of Eishcom is off. You just need to connect the solar panels the rest of the smart boxes and wiring is part of the fridge. Only available stock of a fridge like this in Polekwane.
Then the search was on again and I found a inverter compresor fridge that would fit inside the fridge cavity but it would mean that the small cabinette above the fridge is lost. The power usage of the fridge is classed as A++ so we bought this one. The low consumption will allow for a Inverter and solar a bit later in the year.
So this Coetzee is spannering again........... apart from fixing the klonking floor I have loosened the old fridge last night and I have removed part of the cabinette above the fridge area. It is actually very easy to remove cabinette.
Will take pics and post them if anyone is interrested.

Sterkte Leon.
What is the consumption of this new A++ fridge you bought. And the make and size please.

Hi Paul. Sorry there is a typing error it is a A+ rated fridge, not A++.
Samsung Fridge Freezer
59cm(w) x 158cm (h) x 60cm(d) the depth measured with out the doors as the doors would actualy be outside the fridge area in the corridor.

Hoop joue is ook so.
Sonder Jesus is ek niks! ! ! !
Hoeveel watts trek hy Leon?
Still is baia belangrik vir ń woonwa aangesien jy langs die yskas slaap. No pun intended. Still!
In my huis maak dit nie veel saak nie. Ek slaap nie (gewoonlik) in my kombuus nie.
Paul
Hi Paul.
Sonder Jesus is ek niks! ! ! !
Sorry Paul.
Sonder Jesus is ek niks! ! ! !
Klink na n' maklike process.... so ver.
Loop hierdie een minder Leon?
Paul

Vra my nog gister...
Theo ek is nou weer anders. As hy reg werk loss ek hom. As my omstandigheede verander en dus my behoeftes dan vervang ek hom.
Paul
My woonwa yskas en plank voor onder.
Paul
Kan iemand vir my sê hoeveel sterre in dien enjge my Samsung het?
Paul
