Where can one get accurate information regarding the current status of the KNP. We’ve booked Maroela /  Balule / Satara for the first three weeks in August. As far as I know both Maroela and Satara are open and operating, but I understand Balule is closed and inaccessible. I need to establish exactly what the status is and to what extent I need to change bookings. I would also like to know more about the condition of the roads. The SANParks Website is pretty well useless. Thanks

On Sanparks Website, under Corporate tab there are news bulletins.

On the Sanparks Forum there is a thread, regularly updated re state of roads, camps etc

Ek sit nog steeds mat die probleem dat ek vier dae in Augustus gaan moet vul want dit lyk my bitter onwaarskynlik dat Balule betyds oop gaan wees. Die ander kampe waar ons staan, Maroela en Satara, is op hierdie stadium vol bespreek. So ek kan nie my bespreking daar verleng nie. Maar ek verwag dat met die nuwe brandstof pryse daar heelwat kansellasies gaan wees. Sal kyk wat gebeur.

Daar sal definitief kanselasies beskikbaar word. Wil jy net in middel van KNP wees of sal jy ook meer suid kyk soos Skukuza....sien hulle het nog baie plek

Hou maar net aan kyk….jy sal iets kry. Maar jy moet gereeld kyk….ten minste twee keer per dag….vroeg oggend is die beste tyd.

Ja Balule se kamp gedeelte gaan lank vat. Vivian werk maar nou in Olifants Kamp tot sy terug kan gaan.

Dankie Geert. Ek het reeds, n Satara bespreking van 10 tot 24 Augustus. As dit daar op neerkom sal ek Maroela kanseleer. Ek waardeer almal se belangstelling..
