hi to all the camping and caravaning fraternity has any one been to Klipdraai caravan park south of joburg in meyerton recently and if so how was it

Hi Tonym, invest in a 300mm X 6mm concrete drill bit and a light electrical drill because it very rocky- only negative otherwise a nice park

Very pleasant resort, neat clean ablutions, tidy play park. Try notto get in too late on a friday, might find yourself squeesed in between caravan rally/clubs, stands are not marked !! Ground is very hard, take hein's advice with the drill.

Clean,neat,very hard ground. Only neg for me is that some parts are lit like a stadium at night. Worth a visit.

Al is ek hoe lus vir kamp, gaan ek nie weer na daardie plek toe nie. Eerstens, die kragpunte word ''Overload'' agv oorvloed van kampeerders, sodoende 'n baie groot brand gevaar. Tweedens, baie te kort aan menslikheids verhouding, die werkers op trekker wil vir kampeerders vertel wat hulle mag en nie mag doen nie. Derdens, ek wil nie elke keer my boor masjien saam karwei nie. Laastens, geen afgebakende en genommerde staan plekke nie, jy '' Squeeze'' jou maar in waar 'n gaatjie is.

Hi Everyone and thanks for the welcome as well as the advice. It seems that the major drawback to Klipdraai is the hard ground ( the name is a bit of a dead give away ) well i have camped on hard ground before all i need to do is take a bigger hammer and stronger pegs so i think i might still give the place a look as most of the other features sound good and its not too far from where i live for a quick weekend break

We were at Klipdraai for the weekend.

Did not bother with the tent/rally due to umpiring commitment Saturday, but heard reference to the "Klippe" - hence the name Klipdraai.

We found it to be exceptional - lovely grassed stands with all basic requirements within acceptable range - spotless ablutions - plenty of space to stand - excellent childrens  play park for children, including a neat put-put and various cold water pools.

The only issues we had was the misleading caravan park sign referring to another gate, near one was locked?????? Then what may have been to keep security jacked up, but irritating was their quad up and down late at night and early morning. Too little shade - may also have contributed to the lovely grass stands.

These may have contributed to 5 not recommending, but I can definately recommend . It is a great pleasure to just sit in these green pastures and when moving around, feels just as clean without having to dodge stones and what else
