Toll fees
Would anyone know how many toll booths and what are the costs on the N1 between Polokwane and Bela bela...........
two roads diverged in a wood and i took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.
Kraanskop and the one just before Pietersburg

And clouds of white

The dark sacred night
And I think to myself

Kranskop. Class 1 vehicles Warmbaths (Bela Bela) – Naboomsprt. SANRAL. R60,00.
Naboomspruit – Polokwane. Class 1 R77,00
You can get all the toll fees HERE
Thanks

Another site to get the fees from the AA
Although the toll fees are high, it is worth paying that instead of taking the alternative routes. Going through congested towns with possibly bad road surfaces and struggling to pass slow moving trucks is no pleasure.

if your in Warmbath [bla-Bela] you can drive Nylstroon [Modimolle] -- Naboomspruit [Mookgophong] -- Potgietrsrust [Mokopane]
This road is in good condition and I travel it regular with my caravan in tow Not a lot of truck

I still have my e-tag although I had to go and replace them, works like a charm at the gates even going down to Natal...Don't know the amounts as long as there is credit.
I gave up paying for e-toll when they started writing off people's e-toll debt and I removed the tags but now I use it and stay on the main routes (owe them something like R12K)
Parking at the malls everything goes of the tag
Kranskop though stays a nightmare on long weekends..
Caravan Master by day, Mosquito Buffet by Night
I owe them nothing. If they write off debt they should credit me.

Groete,
Paul
OUTA welcomes the clarification by the Director of Licensing and Prosecutions of the JMPD, Mr Gerrie Gerneke, that unpaid e-toll bills cannot lead to the withholding of vehicle license registrations.
His explanation clarifies that the failure to pay an e-toll bill was not a traffic infringement, and that the traffic authorities have no jurisdiction over non-payment of e-tolls bills.
Groete,
Paul
As I understand it non payment of eToll fees is not a "traffic infringement" and thus AARTO has no jurisdiction over toll fees and they possibly will not show up on their system. I guess we will soon find out 1 December is only a few weeks away.
Paul have you, or anyone else, registered on AARTO and checked if they have any unpaid etoll fees? Would be good to know if they show up on AARTO‘s system.
eToll debt is subject to the Prescription Act 68 of 1969 which is 3 years. I have not heard of SANRAL successfully prosecuting anyone for unpaid toll fees. The majority of those fees would have prescribed by now.
Toll fees is a civil matter and not a fine so it cannot be used to block your licence. A civil claim also cannot be changed to a criminal fine so I dont think you need to fear. I have regularly paid etol in order to be able to use the tags on the highways. As I dont live in Gauteng and just occationally passed thtough this was a minor expense.

The road from Bela-Bela and through Modimolle is not so good. In Modimolle there are roadworks from the N1 through the main road in town. Best to stick to the N1.
Brian I did register to see if there are any unknown outstanding (unpaid) infringements against my name. There were none....all paid. I did not see anything about e-tolls. That is a separate civil issue and as you said not a criminal infringement.

I got a fine on 05 June In KZN, average speeding ticket received in the post. I have been onto NATIS, Aarto and Pay City websites but cannot find any outstanding fines.
The ticket says I must either pay via Pay City or at Pinetown (or by cheque???) I'm certainly not making a special trip to Pinetown to pay.
My problem is that the vehicle's registered in my wife's name and she doesn't know about it.
I hope she doesn't get penalised on 01 December.
