Road conditions from Drakensville to N12

What is the road conditions from N3 Heidelberg towards snake road or should I go via the Galoolies?

If you want to take advantage of Snake Road in Benoni, I will advise that you take the turn off at Heidelberg towards Brakpan, Benoni. This road brings you to Carnival City and eventualy right on the N12 toward Witbank.
The road from Carnival City toward Benoni is in a good condition but from Heidelberg up to Carnival City I have no idea. It is musch shorter this way than driving all the way to Galoolies JHB and then in the direction of Witbank.
So if someone can provide info on the road condition between Heidelberg and Carnival City you would be able to make an informed decision.

24 Feb, 2026 @ 09:45:27 amYes,We are heading towards Witbank. I did use this road about 4 years ago and it was not to bad - but in this time a lot can happen and I also heard that they were busy with roadworks on snake road intersection towards the N12.
