R37 road condition
Would anyone know what the condition of the R37 is from Polokwane to Blyde canyon forever resort after the floods, or would you know a site where i can find a current update after the floods.
Towing that way in a weeks time and just getting a mixed bag of answers so far.
two roads diverged in a wood and i took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.
George, I do not have first hand knowledge but Google Maps does not show any red or other zones.
Living the dream
George, irrespective of the recent floods, I would rather use the R71 via Magoebaskloof to Tzaneen and Gravelotte. Proceed with the R526 and R40 towards Hoedspruit. The last part with R36 through Abel Erasmus towards Blyde canyon. Do you want to visit Swadini or Blyde canyon on top??
Contact the 2 Forever resorts and ask them about road conditions.
Ek het hierdie op die SARAL Facebook page gesien. Maar hule se nie veel meer nie, hoop dit help. Die is net een foto daar is nie andernie maar dit lyk maar sleg. Maar as ek na maps kyk gaan jy afdraai by Burgersford? So ek sin niks tussen Polokwane en Burgersford nie... Hoop iemand op die forum het die pad dalk onglangs na die reen gery. Laat weet op die groep hoe dit lyk as jy daar deur is. Sterkte en ry veilig!
Hulle skryf die volgende: "Rockfalls and falling trees affect the R37 between the Limpopo border and Limpopo Pass. Similar conditions are reported between Lydenburg and Sabie, including Long Tom Pass. Loose material is on the road. Slopes remain unstable. Delay travel if possible. Drive with extreme care."

U woord is n lamp vir my voet en n lig vir my pad
PS. Die inset wat ek nou opgesit het, is op 21 Januarie op hulle Facebook gesit.

Hi George, they will also be able to give some info on the road conditions in the vicinity of the resort.
Enjoy your stay there, lots to see from up top of the mountain. Travel safe and let us know of any road issues you find along the way.

Apart from the floods, not familiar with the area, curious to know why you recommend the R71 route over the R37,

George, as a conservative oompie, there are areas where I don't feel safe anymore. I prefer to sidestep certain geographic areas, as for example previous home lands like Lebowa, Ciskei etc.
More or less for the same reasons, why I do not make use of Numbi gate as well.
Very good advice you've given Grompie.
