Hi all,
I just had to replace the entire PVC floor on my 3x3m Campmor bow tent. It was a mission and expensive, so I want to protect this new floor 100%.
I'm debating the best way to do it.
I want to use two groundsheets:

1. Bottom Layer: 3.6m x 3.6m netted sheet. (To keep things clean, let water drain through).
2. Middle Layer: 3x3m solid Tentco PVC ground sheet.
3. Top Layer: The tent.

Am i overthinking this?
Or should I just use one single layer (the solid PVC sheet, folded smaller than the tent) and let everything else drain away?
What's your real world setup for your bow tent and what works best?

I think one ground sheet should be fine, perhaps get a small "fan-type" plastic rake and just rake the patch you plan to pitch your tent. This way, you know there are no thorns, sticks, or small rocks that usually cause damage under the ground sheet. The one nice thing about a double-layer ground sheet is that the sand does not come through that easily when you walk on your ground sheet if the path is very sandy.

Just keep in mind that some resorts do not allow solid ground  sheets.

I used an old trampoline under my kidies splash pool. I never had a puncture from underneath. Also rake and sweep the ground before placing and putting up the tent.

It is thick and very strong and lets water through.

Yes this is a known fact.  Some resort specify that they do not allow solid ground sheets.

If it was me I would just make sure there are no sharp objects in the area before piching the tent.  A plastic rake is much cheaper and very light.

If a solid ground sheet is kept to under a solid floor tent it is not relevant.

Ons het altyd in ons tent op opblaas of memory foam matrasse geslaap. 

Ons leen toe ons tent vir vriende die tent vir 3 weke vakansie en die tent kom terug met 'n paar gate op die grondvloer. Die verskil was dat hulle op stretchers in die tent geslaap het en die pooitjies het die gaatjies in die seil gemaak.

Ek het toe maar die tent vir hulle gegee aangesien ons toe al die woonwa gehad het.

JA ek het een wat ons voor die wa se deur gooi. Hy is redelik groot.  Ons gooi hom bo op die oorspronklike grondseil.
