Does anyone know how to service a Tando stabilizer?? I have had mine for six years now, but unless I have become stronger or more experienced during this period, I think it has become easier to attach to the bakkie & caravan, perhaps I need to ?retorque? or whatever else one can call ?tightening things a bit?.? Please don?t tell me I must buy another stabilizer, since I am satisfied with the Tando?

Hi Johan, I also use a Tando, the friction plates wear down like brake pads, the result is that it becomes pap. You will need to re-torque the nylok nut holding it together to about 40Nm. I find that if I go on a long tow, like the garden route, I have to re-torque about half way. I got a photostat when I got my Tando, will see if I can dig it out.

Torque the friction pad nut stabelizer arm ,not to tight just so U can operate/ swivel it on hand power, when hitching the van. Christo
