Berg River Resort

Well maintained resort,clean ablutions, security patrol in the evening.very peaceful ideal for a quick getaway. Staff very friendly will definitely be back

Our family and I love berg river resort. It is a fantastic and relaxing place to stay, with something for the whole family. It is only a short drive away from Cape Town and is easily accessible. There are many activities to keep the kids entertained. There are a few parks and some play equipment which the kids enjoy, lots of open space where they love to run around. There are some small farm animals such as goats, rabbits and pigs which the kids can see and feed which they love. There is a small kids pool as well as a large pool for the adults and older kids for the warm days. For the older kids there is a water slide and mini golf course and a small games room near the shop. The river is also right on the campsite which is fun to play in and is not too deep. There are small canoes and tubes to rent and I have seen several people fishing as well. The staff are very friendly and always willing to help. The sites feel secure, there is a guard on duty and the resort is quite well access controlled. There is an onsite shop with some basics and a few extras. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed we always love having a braai with the family while the kids play on the grass. The sites are well maintained and the cottages are well looked after and fully stocked with everything you might need for the weekend away. We will definitely return.

As a first time 'tent' camper this has to be one of the best family camp sites in Western Cape. Berg River resort offers everything and more for the whole famil too many to mention but a few things come to mind, Safe, secure, adventure, peace, quiet, tranquility, clean and value for money. Zip up your tent and leave for the day to explore and everything will be there on your return. Staff is friendly especially at reception. What a gem of a place. We'll be back for sure.

The overall rating was done by 22 of our CCSA Tygerberg Region's members camping at Berg River. We had our AGM there and was very thankful for the use of the hall at no cost for our AGM as well as a spit braai and dance. We have already made arrangements with the Berg River for our AGM in August 2019
