De Hoek Mountain Resort,tucked away in the Swartberg Mountains, is situated 35 km from Oudtshoorn, on the road to Prince Albert and 5km from the Cango Caves, which is a place of natural beauty and also a national monument. The resort is a bird-watchers and nature lovers paradise, and is home to the Black Eagle. Large level grassed Caravan and Camping sites with clean ablution blocks, offers the caravanner or camper a comfortable and scenic setting from which to explore the area. Our very well equipped chalets have that rustic feel about them, and are fully furnished to cater for up to 6 persons.
Each chalet has its own braai facilities as well as parking directly outside. Nearby Attractions Mountain climbing in the area - to visit the Big Cave, walk past the swimming pool away from the campsite, cross the stream at the weir and follow the path up towards the cave.The Barrier Reef is a 9-11 m high face right of the Blue Wall area. A visit to the Cango Caves is a must. Visit the Cango Wildlife farm. The Rust-en-Vrede waterfall is hidden among the bracken-clad heights; take a walk over little bridges along the mountain trail. Experience the unique sensation of a Hot Air Balloon trip over the beautiful Little Karoo just 7 km from Oudtshoorn, spot more than thirty hoofed antelope. Directions: From Oudtshoorn, head north on Baron von Rheede/R328, turn L to Prince Albert just short of Cango Caves, turn R at De Hoek Mountain Resort signage; distance about 34 km; travel time about 30 min.
