Type of Resort: Family with children
Excellently positioned both for nearby activities and relatively easy to get to any point in the Cape Peninsula. It does however need a bit of TLC, mostly in terms of maintenance to ablutions and site electricity points, as well as refuse collection of what looked like significant weekend booze jamborees. Ablutions look bad but those services in running order were clean and effective. Well priced. What is it about parks in this part of the world not being pet friendly? Opening up to clients who look after their travelling companions would give any park within a 100km radius a major competitive advantage!

Imhoff Caravan Park is situated in in the Western Cape at the south end of the long white beaches that runs northwards toward Chapman’s Peak and Noord Hoek in a small town named Kommetjie. This makes Imhoff the ideal caravan park to camp and explore everything the area has to offer with a short drive. Walking distance on the long beaches to relax and enjoying the fresh air and view; the Wreck of Kakapo are also visible if you take a short walk on this beach. The area offer so much to see and do. The Slangkop lighthouse and wooden walkway, Imhoff farm shops, ‘The Dunes’ if you like horse riding, Deep South Distillery for those who like Gin, Vodka and Rum, Aegir Project Brewery for beer, Chapmans Peak scenic drive, Hout Bay Harbour, market just to name a few. Staying at Kommetjie Caravan Park offers you a well-established caravan park close to the beach and all attractions in the area. All camping sites are well covered with grass and some even have a paved parking area. Each campsite is surrounded with trees to give each camper his own little paradise with its own braai and electricity point. The ambition block is centre located with enough roaming space not to disturb any campers. There’s a small basic play area for young children. Ensure to pack all necessities to save you an unnecessary trip to the shops.

Access to resort is very easy with tar up to your stand. No direct sea views from the resort, but a short walk then you are onto a beautiful beach looking out to Hout Bay and Chapmanspeak. Reception is friendly and quick, easy to find your stand. Stands have mixture of grass and sand, some open, others lot of shade. Ablutions are old needing some maintenance but are kept clean and neat. Not much for the children to do, no pool, but the sea is close by. A very convenient resort to do all your Cape sight seeing. No shop, although a small tuck shop opened temporarily selling some nice treats. Big shopping mail is close by. you have to drive past it on way to resort, making it convenient to pick up fresh goodies each day. I will definitely recommend this resort, ideal for the area.
