30 September 2023 Shevy - KwaZulu-Natal Type of Resort: Family with children
Well done to management I was taken back by the friendliness of everyone I delt with, the helpfulness was above excellent. Will definitely use Steenbokkie again.
04 May 2021 Hans Christian - KwaZulu-Natal Type of Resort: Quiet and mature without children
Was supposed to just be a stopover but we stayed an extra day as it was so nice and relaxing. Access road good, nice ablitions, cozy kitchen, green grass, level stands, reasonable price. Nice little shop with gift section on site, quiet and beautiful karoo nature and some wildlife on site. Sheep came and woke us up in the morning, much better than the usual alarm clock :) Great staff, will definitely stop over again.
23 December 2019 Chars - Gauteng Type of Resort: Family with children
The resort is well marked and easily found, I would recommend you take the route through town as you will have a shorter sand road to travel on.
The Ablutions were well kept and very clean.
All sites are not marked however they are nice and clean, there are braai facilities and plenty Electrical points.
They have a few pools to relax in after a long days trip on the road and a small play area for children to enjoy.
We felt very safe and welcome at the resort and all staff are very friendly. They do sell ice and wood if needed. I would recommend Steenbokkie for an overnight stay and definitely would return.
03 March 2019 Jozua - Western Cape
The access road to the resort includes a short gravel road which was in a fair condition. There was no noticeable security. The sites is in good condition and is under trees with grass.
The ablutions is dated and in need of maintenance. We would not say that the ablutions were clean although a fair attempt was made to clean them.
This is typically used as an overnight stop and will serve it's purpose. Not recommended for a long stay.
Staff was friendly. There is no shop or restaurant close by, therefore do your shopping in town.
If you compare the fees with what you typically pay at ATKV, then they are ridiculously expensive for the facilities however there is very little alternative camping facilities in the area. The better choice would be Karoo National Park - at a higher rate!
