For anyone who missed the building process here is a bit of background. The old pavilion was knocked down during November 2023 to make space for the new and improved Barn.

 

The Barn consists of a Main Hall, Kitchen, Lounge, Kiddies Room and bathrooms. All these features makes the Barn the perfect place to be during our rainy season.

 

The Barn has already proven itself by hosting Dr. Derek Fish presenting a Star talk in the Lounge, a Talent Show and New Year's Eve Barn dance in the Main Hall with refreshments served from the kitchen. Pierre Carter also shared his experience about paragliding off Mount Everest in the Lounge. If the kids don't want to join-in the adult talks they can always keep themselves busy in the Kiddies Room. With the bathrooms right there you won't even miss a thing if you really need to leave the room.

 

We are still busy with decorating and planning the use of the whole space, but we are getting there. Hopefully you can all come and visit us soon to experience the Mountain Splendour, the New Barn and of course the spectacular Drakensberg mountains. A holiday in the Drakensberg is definitely an item that can be added to your bucket list!
