Hi all 

I am new to the forum and wants to buy my first caravan. 

My budget = R100k max. 

I am looking for an older caravan that is in excellent condition with a rally as well as full tent. 

I needs to have an air conditioner as well as a huge (preferably queen and bigger) double bed

What would you recommend ? 

A very important determining factor is the vehicle you intend to use for towing the caravan. Specifications as power, torque, legal towing mass limit etc comes to mind.

You must also decide on the application of the caravan - road or off-road (veld, bush, off=the-grid??), occupancy size (kids etc..), weekend short stays or long stay etc..

Best is to go to dealers and start looking at different makes & models to determine your needs. Then once you have made a short list of preferences, then you start searching for you caravan that falls within your budget.

Vehichle = Toyota fortuner 3.0 D4D 4x4

Im coming from a trailer Jurgens xt 140

Intended use = more road short and longer stays (14 days max) 

Occupancy = wife and 3 kids 

I do like the older Jurgens Penta but that bed seems so small 

Look at the Sprite Swing caravans 

Meeste van jou karavaan se beddens is aan die klein kant. Daar is heelwat mense wat dit al verander het na grooter beddens. Vriende van ons het hul Sprite Sport so verander dat hul 4x volwassenes en 2x kinders daarin slaap.

First, welcome to the forum.

I am going to according hear say, although I am deaf, but my wife explain this to me:

- About 2 stands from me and also elderly penioners.

They have a Sprite Swing, which I think that this is a late model from: 2005 upwards.

The Swing is a Limited Edition with the White corners.

He also added onto his side tent, which became a 3x Big Side ten = 10mt x 10mt.

The caravan according me is in "Mint" condition.

The people cannot afford camping further anymore and their expiring date is end of December, which they will move on to their children.

According hearing: If he sell the caravan, the new owner must hitch it here @ Klipspringer, Modimolle.

- Price = R100k.

As mentioned, I do not know them personally, but should you require photos and more info, I will go and negotiate.

My problem is that I do need a caravan before end December. 

I already booked place from the 23rd December and I would like to test out the van over a weekend before then. 

I guess photo's wont do harm.

When they arrive back I will go and find out the correct info and will take proper photos and revert back.

They arrived a few minutes ago from town and the verdict is, that the Van cw Setup are sold to a family member, which will take in pocession the 1st week in December.

Ja Chris, baie dinge het verander sedert ons laas gepraat het. 

Ons woon nou permanent in Hartbeespoort en ons Vader het besluit om vir ons 'n laat lam te stuur om ons nederig te hou. Ekt nou 3 x dogters, eks inderdaad skatryk. 

Daai Penta waarna jy verwys is toe destyds verkoop ja.

Ek dink n Jurgens Fleelline XL is n goeie keuse. 

Ek lees wat met ons gebeur het, het ook met julle gebeur. Daardie laaaaaaat lam. As ek kon sal ek na n Fleeline XL kyk.
