Step by step to remove charging circuit on Hercules 20 and to connect intelligent charger.
I see that the battery charger on the Hercules 20 is actually just a 12v supply and can overcharge your battery is permanently connected.
I want to disconnect the battery charger of the Hercules and replace that part with an intelligent charger. Just to charge the battery. I still want to use the Hercules 12v reticulation.
Thanks
Paul
No if that Hercules 20 function correctly it cant overcharge your battery .Even if you leave it on for 1year it will will not cause any harm The Hercules 20 is a very good charger .
Yes, it is as effective as an intelligent charger. The only downside possibly is thst it might not deliver enough current(amp or watt) if you have a lot of 12 Volt equipment on board. Do know what yours' output is?
Het is beter rijk te leven dan rijk te sterven
The Hercules 20 charger can charge 2x105 Ah deepcycle batt with great success .

So capacity is not an issue. I would keep the setup as it is.

Jip no need to replace the Hercules 20 charger it is a very good charger .
The Hercules or the Apollo chargers are excellent chargers. They are made by Lehman Transformers and are very sophisticated (circuit design wise). They are also exclusively made for CI/Jurgens.
They are however not intelligent 3 or 4 stage chargers. They only supply 13.8V as a float charge. There is an internal modification (adding a resistor) that allows them to function as a 2 stage charger (Boost and then Float). The Hercules 10 supplies 10A and the 20…20Amps.

Hi there Paul, I want to fit something to my Jurgens Fleetline 2003 as it does not have that function on this caravan. It has a 12 volt out put from the power supply box and NO charger.
Please can you send me that info if you get it to my email via the administration office.
Hi there fellow camper, enjoy camping.
When you leave just leave your foot prints and nothing other than a clean site as you found it.
