Anyone on this forum going to the Skipper Ralley at Mac Nicols Bazeley Beach on 15th November. Would be good to chat. We are booked till 18th and may extend our stay.

Greetings Paul,    We will be  at Mac Nicols on Wednesday 15 November up until Sunday 18 when we will move up to Your recommended berg resort Mountain Splendor.

We are off to Cobham near Himeville on 25 Nov for 5 nights. Our most favourite camp site but Mountain Splendour is a good second place. You must go to the Raptor show, its a bucket list thing that should not be missed. Will definately go back to watch it.

What is the Raptor show?

Show of the various birds of prey they have like the Black Eagle, the Fish Eagles and Owls. They let them soar in the air then they swoop down and catch the meat thrown to them. Really magnificent.

Brian ask for any of site 45 to 49 at Mountain Splendour, they are the front sites overlooking the mountains.

Paul, we will be driving the Red duster with Oyster, I havn't booked a site yet but will most likely be over the road from Froggy Pond.

We are F2 Froggy pond. See you there. Not much response of people in the forum coming so it is probably mostly people who have bought directly from Skipper in Park Rennie or members of Caravan and Outdoor forum.

Looks like only two members of the forum will attend the Skipper Rally.  Have loads of fun.

Just outside of Plettenberg Bay on your way to Knysna is a similar venue called "Radical Raptors"  if I can advise someone to attend a show like this you should not miss it.

Each of the visitors is given a thick glove that you ware during the show and while the guy is busy with his show presentation talking about a specific bird he put a bit of mince on you glove and that bird will fly to land on your glove.

With the large eagles you would suspect a heavy weight to drop on you hand when they land but its nothing, you barely feel them sitting on your hand.

Amazing really

Leon it is truly amazing to watch and a life long memorable experienc.The birds come from high above when they are called. The fish eagle when on the handlers glove gives a reply call when the handler calls it. The fish eagle they have is human imprinted so it does not recognise other fish eagles as possible mates so will never return to the wild like a lot of the other birds they have rehabilitated.

Well the Skipper Rally is on this weekend. Hope you make lots of friends.  Please post some photos whom ever is going to be there.  

Hope we are not going to be rained out as it has been raining for about a week here in Hillcrest Kzn and weather forecasts predict rain in the weekend. Only positive thing is it gives us opportunity to test the Skipper in rain which we have not had occasion to do yet. Rain will have to seal the canvas for the first time so hope we do not leak.

Hope we will learn a few tricks from other Skipper owners this weekend but i wonder how many people are going to be crazy enough to risk the weather too.

If camping is in their blood they will be there.  Please post pics after the rally.  Hope your'e gonna be a bunch of happy skipper owners together.

I don't  think you will rain out...all of you have Skipper licences😜
