Pasternoster / Tieties baai
Paternoster, a quaint little town which part of it remains just as it always has been , alas modern man is spreading both north and south of the old school centre.
two roads diverged in a wood and i took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.
The water front, very much with days gone by, most places had signs on saying , closed for the winter.

Tieties Baai, contrary to what the name says, is really just a nature reserve with campgrounds which in its hey day would have made good camping, alas the abolitions and basic infrastructure appear to be no longer on par.

Beautiful part of the Western Cape. Thanks for sharing.
The Happy Campers.
Beautiful but It has become toooo trendy for me.
Groete,
Paul
Pasternorter had is own unique charm. Pity the Pilchards factory closed down many jobs lost there. In the few years between when we visited it, we saw the dramatic changes that had taken place.
We enjoyed Lamberts bay more. It is still unspoilt and not trendy and also very beautiful.
We stayed in the municipal caravan park for 2 weeks in December.

About 45 kms north of Lamberts Bay is Doorn Bay - even MORE beautiful and quaint! Visit the fish shop on the main road - absolutely "lekker" fish on sale. Bought fish there (I think it is called "Black Monk") which came to be the best braai fish I have ever had. The restaurant which looks like the forward part of a fishing boat is equally nice and worthwhile a visit!! The rooms there are also most acceptable - we stayed there for 2 nights and were sorry to leave.
