On The Road Again - Relocating to Plett
Tomorrow we move over to Plett, looking forward to meeting old friends again. So it's a short hop for us, just hope all the mist clears and there is no wind. Will post some pics when we are there.
Song will be playing as usual - On the Road Again :)
Looking forward to lunch at Ristorante Enrico. Yummy
Enrico was closed out of season last time we stayed at the forever resort.
two roads diverged in a wood and i took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.
Looked earlier they were open today so hopefully this week as well. :)
They usually close in the winter for a month Enrico goes back to Italy for a holiday.
Last year they closed from 15 May to 7 July
Lookout deck ook baie nice

Our campsite at Forever Plett. Arrived all safe and setup for the month :) No Side or front walls. We will see as the days go by may put them up later

Try Roadside Cafe in Plett or Asado in Keurboomstrand, much better value for money, especially Roadside Cafe.

Thank will try them however Enrico is a family favourite so we have to go there as well.

Enjoy Brian,
Having a house in Keurboomstrand which we often visit, we learned from the locals. We also loved Enrico's, especialy the view!
I hope the weather treats you well and be on the lookout for whales, they are starting to come into the bay.

Thanks Frik, hope the weather gets better was bad the last few days in Mossel Bay we had quite storm there one night and lots of mist.
But thats part of camping so no real problem.
Never mind the weather as long as were together, we off to see the wild west show :)
Hoe ervaar julle Forever Plettenberg?

Stands here are certainly big enough for my van / Exclusive and if you want to erect a full tent it will fit. Lots of paved river front sites and lots of grassed sites if you prefer as well.
When we arrived had quite a few to choose from. Ablutions are also great always clean plenty hot water, laundry facilities.
Nice and quiet at the moment even though there are lots of occupied sites, if it changes I will report back here.
We stood on one of the paved water front sites in front of the last ablution block, nice site however the down side was the sun , or lack there of.
The sun came up rather late in the morning over the mountain across the river and went down equally early behind the mountain at the back, and not much sun got through the canopy of trees during the day.
Winter got a little chilly there.

That's where we are more or less just down stream of ablution block 3. Yeah it's quite chilly here now in the day but not too bad. Should the wind pick up I expect it will change.
Just added the storm net to my setup - expecting some heavy winds this weekend according to Windy.com - so better safe than sorry. I just cannot get my storm pegs through the paving :)
Should not be as bad as while we were in Cape Town.
It's a good thing that you are not in the East London area, especially Gonubie. We had the worst hailstorm here in Gonubie in more than 50 years. Lots of damage all around, mainly to plastic type roofing and guttering, with plenty vehicles full of dents and broken windshields. Now I know what you Transvaalers experience with your frequent hailstorms.
Been there--done it. ( Talking about the bathroom )

My worst nightmare to be caught camping and there is a big hailstorm as there is nothing you can do but sit it out and hope for the best.
We just down the road at yellow sands, had quite a storm here but no hail, must have just missed us.

Hi George. Yellow Sands is a nice place. Arena next door as well. Don't know how long you will be there. Take a drive one day our to Morgan Bay. Have a look at the caravan park, small, very neat, good monthly rates. If you plan that, you drive right past me on a farm on the Morgan Bay road, 4km from Morgan bay. Let me know, and pop in, would like to meet you. Saturdays at the Morgan Bay hotel, they have locally baked savories, which you will find difficult to match.
Huge thunderstorm here right now lightning, thunder, heavy rain.
