Hi Fellow Campers, Lurkers and whatever else

Stumbled upon this forum accidentally whilst searching for something else. 
Love the camping lifestyle. My g/f, soon to be wife, also loves the outdoors so it's nice to have some company after so many year being solo on the bike.  I'm pushing on 62, so I have to make best of the remaining years. 

Used to do the motorcycle touring thing, but due to my knees complaining I am doing less of that and since I bought an offroad caravan just over 2 years ago, doing more caravan touring and very little motorcycling.
Love anything outdoors, nature and all things nature related, 80's music, hunting, 4x4 etc.    

Namibië is my favorite destination which I try to visit at least once a year. The Kalahari is also another soft spot hence my forum name.  
When I retire in about 2 years time I plan to do the long camping thing and explore all those little roads and unknown destinations as there never was enough time "as you had to be back in the office on Monday". 
Hopefully I'll gain some useful information from the knowledgeable people here.
I am quite comfortable with my camping setup as I've been doing this on and off for 45 odd years, but the destinations , what to see and places to avoid is what I hope to learn most.

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you know your way around caravans but there's a wealth of information here re touring and destinations.

We're heading off to Matla Noka, north of Naboomspruit on Monday. Completely off grid with excellent ablutions and a donkey boiler. It's our 2nd visit & we're trying a different campsite.

There's 4 (I think) caravan sights, at least 500m-1km apart & I'm sure we'll be the only people there. Campsite overlooks the Sterk Rivier.
