Light Dimmer in 2015 Exclusive
Good morning all you happy campers.
We returned last week after two months in Kruger. What a wonderful place.
In Punda Maria one of my neighbours had a light dimmer fitted in his Jurgens Explorer. He dimmed all the lights including the outside one. He also had yellow cling film stuck on his outside light to reduce the bug attraction. He bought this stick on film from Loftus Caravans. Like myself he does not like bright lights shining in your eyes.
I bought the same LED light dimmer (BDD LED Dimmer 12-24V 8A 96-192W) from Communica for R70 and fitted it. According to the wiring diagram both the negative and positive of the light must be split from the battery/12V supply. The is therefore a V- and V+ IN (12V supply) and a separate V- and V+ OUT (light). The V- IN and V- OUT are not common. Luckily all the required wires are in the light switch box next to the door of the Exclusive. There is a V- from the power supply and then multiple V- going to all the lights from the switch box. There is also a V+ from the power supply which is then common to all the light switches. It works very well and now I can dim all the lights connected to this switch box.
Groete,
Paul

Looks good with a price to match. I doubt that it works with normal LED lights though.

And then there's, Power Tools!
It is a 12-24 volt light dimmer. The ones in the house all work off 220V and the LED driver inside the globe steps the voltage down and limits the current. Any 12-24V working LED can be dimmed. Up to 8 amps (96W) total power. I dim the outside light (1.5A) and the three interior lights (3x.5A=1.5A). Total 3 amps.
