Langebaan
Die bekenste us Lientjies klip.
So 'n ent suid is Yserfontein.
Yzerfontein is far more protected from the wind than Leentjies. Yzerfontein you need to walk over the dunes to get a sea view of the sunrise or sunset. Leentjies the view is on your doorstep. Stayed a month at both and enjoyed each one. Leentjies we have been to a few times.
The Last two photos are from Yzerfontein the rest from Leentjiesklip
Leentjiesklip is pragtig.
You'll never never know if you never never go
Sulke tye kan Yzerfontein of Dwarskersbos dalk 'n beter keuse wees.

Wind damage at Leentjiesklip to someone a few sites up from us.
Date was early September

Daar is ook beperkte plant lanings as windskerm by Leentjiesklip.
We will be doing a road trip there in about 2 weeks time to do a recce on Leentjies and Oosterwal, plan to be at one of the two winter this year we been told by locals that it rains approx 10 day a month but not much wind, will report back once we have been there and spoken to more locals.
two roads diverged in a wood and i took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.
Although we have camped many times in Langebaan we have never camped at Oostewal which is more in the middle of the town than Leentjies, both are Municipal run. Leentjies certainly has a better view over the lagoon although as stated you need to be aware of the prevailing winds and be prepared for them.
I don't think Oosterwal is quite safe due to where it is situated. But do give us feedback when you have been there.

Reports of theft have come from both campsites, although it seems to be the exception and not the norm. However with that in mind im leaning more towards leentjies at one of there private ablution stands with the sole purpose of keeping tent stuff under lock and key [ for what its worth ] in the ablution , but will go and check both parks out first.
Having now stayed in 11 different towns in the past 4 years this may be our first time at a municapal park, private parks are becoming scarce on the west coast.

If I remember correctly you did stay in Mosselbay? The camps there are run by the municipality if I am not mistaken. You should also see the camps at Stilbaai and Jongensfontein, both municipal and both very good. Jongensfontein especially is very popular throuhout the year. But we are talking about the Westetn Cape after all.

Brian, would you know anything about Vanputtensvlei , about 5 kms inland of Lamberts bay.

George unfortunately not, but I did find this quick video on the net tho.
We stayed in Lambertds bay camp site for the month of october with the private ablutions. The ablutions are old, but cleat. Any complaint, they fix, good reaction. Very safe and if you pay for a month booking, it is cheaper than for 2 weeks.
Very center to visit elandsbay, doring bay, strandfontein, and lutzville wine route and tasting.
Try to stand not facing the sea to protect against the wind. They let you atand at any open stand. 86 was quite good
