As you would know Hardekraaltjie is a very old resort, basically only fit for overnight purposes. Or if you don't have any kids. During the day the sound of the vehicles traveling on Voortrekker Road can be a pain but it is usually quiet by bed time. There are no pools or things to do for the kids. Ablution and scullary facilities is old but was revamped not long ago. It is kept very clean and I did not have any problems with hot water.

The whole camp is fenced off and thre is a security guard at the gate 24/7. The main gate is locked every night at 22h00, so if you need to leave the guard will open it. Make sure you have the phone no of the resort at hand as you will need to phone the guard after 22h00 to open the gate as it is about 100m away from the security booth and reception.

All sites are grassed with about 50% of them having shade.

You might want to add:

Some night entertainment/companionship can be found in Voortrekker road nect to the park.

There local soothsayer will tell your fortunes over a lekka papsak and can be found under any streetlamp/bush in the area.

A year or two back more than half of the people in the park were permanent residents.

On a serious note,  Voortrekker Road Renewal project was estabilished a year ago and have seen some success to cleaning up the area, but it stays the crappiest part of Bellville.

I heard that the Kuislriver Resort might eb a better over night place, also in built up area next to big road but area is much better at night.
