Exclusive Maintenance Wash up Taps
The taps inside the caravan at the bathroom basin and kitchen basin looked very old. They have a green rusty residue on them. Probably because of long time camping at the sea. They were still working well but when we tried to clean them we saw that we could damage the coating on them. So I removed them and installed new ones just a bit different in colour.

We think the new taps makes a big difference. I will put the old ones in vinegar and try to clean them that way. Keep them as spares.
One question I have though. The drain pipe of the kitchen basin flows out just on the inside of the left front wheel, did this water bother any one before? Did any body made changes to that gray water outlet?

All 3 my outlets run out at the rear right of the van underneath the shower.
I have connected all 3 inline with a 25mm hose and from there run 1 x pipe to get rid of the Grey water.
Thanx Petrus. The Kitchen basin will probably never be used, but you never know. I will somehow make a plan to get the outlet away from the tent side of the caravan.
I will have to extend the bathroom outlet as well and move it closer to the shower. Small mission to get them all in one spot.

Die pype van my outlets is ek dink 13mm pyp wat in die vloer channels hardloop en met cable ties vasgetrek is.
Ek is die 3de eienaar, so weet nie of hy so uitgekom het en of iemand dit gedoen het nie.
Leon, my grys stortwater vang ek afsonderlik op in 'n 25 liter drom. Kyk foto hieronder. Die kombuiswasbak- en badkamerwasbak se gryswater lei ek na agter die regter-agterwiel in 'n emmer. As al die gryswater na een uitloop gaan, is dit te gou vol en te swaar om te veryder en uit te gooi.

Living the dream

Thanx Richard for the reminder. The comments I made on the link you provided was things I did on the Classique caravan. There it was easy as most of the outlet were already close to one another. The issue now is the kitchen basin is far away from the Bathroom basin and as mentioned on that thread the distance could cause an issue with the draining.

The outlet pipes on the Dethleffs all come to one outlet. These pipes have adjustable connectors screwed under the floor and they all slope to the outlet, so when the van is level the water runs to the single outlet with no water left in the pipes. For one or two night stop overs the van came with a grey water tank, on wheels, which is placed under the outlet. For longer periods I make use of a pipe attached to the outlet which I lead away from the van usually into nearby plants.

What did those taps cost, where did you get them ?
two roads diverged in a wood and i took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.
I connect a 20mm transparent thick wall pipe to the shower outlet and another one to the "kitchen" basin outlet. I then feed the shower off the stand to a tree or dig a hole. The basin pipe is also fed off the stand and here I always dig a hole which gets deeper the longer we stand. When we leave I fill up the holes again. You can not even see where the holes were.

I bought them at discovery Caravan and Outdoor (Waterkloof Rif) Think it was just under R700 a shot. They have the original ones as well.

I would prefer pooling the water at one place in a bucket but it is what it is. Will have to sort this out when I get home.

Leon, the later models of the Exclusive, >2015, have all the outlets on the right side of the caravan. They are not joined into one outlet though.
I found the kitchen basin outlet to run onto the hub of the right back wheel. I simply bent the outlet downwards with a cable tie. I fitted a short piece of 22mm inside diameter irrigation pipe onto the outlet into which my 20mm pipe pushes. Dish water is a mess. It must be disposed of off site into a gully or into a deep pit/hole in the ground.

The original taps cost R2000 from Naomi at Discovery Camplife. The other I bought online for R1350.

And now the new one has also broken. I think they can not take the 65C water used for washing dishes.
Leon are those replacement taps of yours metal or plastic?

They are plastic same as the originals. Just another colour. Under counter parts looks and work the same.

I have now sorted the grey water coming from the shower and the bathroom basin. This all drains into a bucket that I empty by hand. I will be able to push a pool cleaner pipe over these outlets to guide the water to plants or a suitable place.
The kitchen water is still an issue. But we rarely use that basin. Until then that we start using it, it can stay as is.
We had a 100Liter water tank in the Sensation. That allows us to fill the tank only during long weekends and holiday trips, as the amount of water was enough for us to shower over two days. The water level indicator worked better and the tank had a ball valve to stop water inlet when the tank is full.
I want to investigate and find a way to install such a tank on the Exclusive. If I can make it happen I will go to a high pressure system and change the 2 taps and shower mixer to house hold taps. Same as we had in the Sensation.
Will even redo the whole plubbing of the caravan

On Temu there is a wheeled 20 liter container that can be used for the Grey water. Makes the job much easier.
