Whom of all the forum members visited the Caravanparks.com stall at the show during the weekend. I was searching for them in the main Hall and only found them by chance tucked away near a door  so as if they are there but actually not.

Shoe!! I found two upset ladies behind the counter.  Hope you guys feel a bit better by now.

Leon, was there on Friday with my complimentary ticket.  Wanted to thank them.  They were virtually out of sight.  If I did not visit the heads on the lower level, I would have missed them.  Christine at least gave me two packs of my favourite playing cards and I received my "reisigersgids" on Friday. 

I was surprised by the abundance of caravans, trailers and motorhomes.  Can the market support this variety.   There was once again products that one could only tow with a LC200 or similar.  At a 4x4 shop in Centurion, I came across a offroad van that had a GVM of 2600kg.  This van required a tow vehicle with a minimum Tare of 5200kg unless service brakes were fitted to the van that coupled to the towing vehicle.   

At least I found the tyre valve extension that I needed for my trailer.  Could not find one at tyre dealers or spares shops in Centurion.

I support your concern that there are such a large amount of caravan manufactures how do they make a living with the relative small camping market out there in South Africa. And it is not that the prices are competitive.  

That market is getting smaller by the day.

Kompetisie is goed vir die verbruiker.  Waarskynlik is meeste van die vervaardigers klein ondernemings wat karavane op bestelling bou en 'n bestaan kan maak met 'n klein produksie.  Skipper in Natal is 'n voorbeeld daarvan.  Hulle is al jare in produksie en is baie suksesvol omdat hulle produk uitstekend is hoewel beslis nie goedkoop nie. Hulle produktelyn is egter uniek want sover ek weet, is daar nie ander vervaardigers wat dieselfde tipe karavane bou nie.  Sommige van die vervaardigers sal dit maak, sommiges nie, dis maar soos dit werk, maar met soveel kompetisie is ons rdelik seker van  goeie kwaliteit. 

Ek is ook nie altyd seker dat dit so sleg met ons ekonomie gaan nie, kyk maar na die aantal luukse voertuie op ons paaie en my waarneming is nie soos sommige mense sou wou sê, dat dit net die huidig "bevoorregtes" is nie- ek sien alle kleure en geure agter die stuurwiel.
