I keep my caravan stored in the far back corner of the garage. It is parked in with very little tolerance on all four sides. Up till now, we have been manhandling the van into place manually and believe me, with four people all pushing and pulling in different directions, things become rather heated after a while.

Well, today Wimpie from "Caravan movers" came out and installed my manual Ewiks. The whole process was flawless, from enquiry right up to the installation. The care that is taken with the installation was impressive as well. I felt that the team was professional and took care to mount the system in the in the most accessible spot with least amount of intrusion.

I first moved the van directly over the tow ball of my car and the control was precise. Then I was able to maneuver the van into its position using two fingers. It was quicker and easier than the whole bunch of us pushing and shoving. 

This now takes away and fear of me not being able to connect my van and car when the terrain is not flat, it also will go a long way to keeping me happily married for many years to come.

In 2010 we bought the Motor movers and it was installed at home in my own driveway.  Since then I have never owned a caravan with out movers.  It is as you say the unessesary tension just to get the caravan stowed or parked in the right spot is now gone.

When we get to a caravan site I ask my wife where the caravan must stand and how must it face.  If there is a bit of ........ no more to the right, I put the remote in her hand and say move it .............. Problem solved.

Caravan movers are only a blessing and I have to say this as well.  The next thing after movers is a rear view camera while towing.  100 times better than towing with extension mirrors.

These are the two things which is a must for me using and towing a caravan.

Ek kan nou nie saampraat oor die "movers" nie, (nog nie!) maar wat die kamera agter aan die karavaan aanbetref JA!

Ek het vantevore 'n kamera gehad, maar na 10 jaar het die ding meer probleme verskaf as 'n ordentlike beeld. Ek het reeds vroeër berig oor my navorsing oor die onderwerp.

Lang storie kort, soos ook voorheen genoem, het ek toe op 'n kamera verskaf deur Boetie van Loggerenberg, wat ek ook gespesifiseer het om die kamera agter my Touareg in te sluit.

Inisiëel was hierdie nie maklik om aan gewoond te raak nie. Die moitor is op die truspieël aangebring (wat eintlik beteken het dat my besluit om die kamera ook op die Touareg aan te bring - dis te moeilik om dit te verwyder) en het verskeie fasiliteite wat eintlik onnodig is - daar is luidsprekers, USB proppe ens. Maar die kamera en monitor gedeelte werk goed.

Klein dingetjie wat my dadelik beïndruk het, was die manier wat die karavaan kamera prop koppel met die voertuig - baie beter as die paar skakels wat ek op die vorige stelsel gehad het

Die beeld is groot (en redelik verwarrend a,g,v, die normale "tru" lyne) en duidelik. Daar is die fasiliteit om te wissel tussen voertuig en karavaan kamera, soos wat die karavaan gehak en of verwyder word. Om die kamera ordentlik in te stel na agter - sonder die karavaan -  moet dit effens gelig word, so jy kan nie werklik sonder Vroulief se hulp die hak ingestem kry om die karavaan ordentlik te nader nie.

Effens verwarrend in die begin, soos genoem, want my vorige kamera het my toegelaat om die gewone tru spieël te gebruik met die monitor apart op die paneelbord. Dit het egter nie te lank geneem om alles gewoond te raak nie, en daarna ................ wat 'n plesier!

Met "Awol" agteraan kan en effens breër a die Touareg is verkeer gewoonlik nie sigbaar nie, maar nou te lekker.
