Likewise Meneer, Where are you heading? I will be going camping on 2nd week of January in Morgan’s bay, will do day trips to Trennerys and Haga haga. The rates would also be favourable. Those camping in this peak season, what is the going rate?

We leave the end of Jan headed to Mossel Bay and intend taking several months to slowly return and then may even just pass by and keep going, not an any rush to return. :)
Thanks Brian, likewise, to you and your family
Also, to all other happy campers, stay safe and a blessed Christmas
life is a journey... not a destination.

Dieselfde vir julle, dankie Brian

Hi. We live in the Morgan Bay area. Send me a message when you are in the area. Maybe we can introduce ourselves and have a beer. 083442.3579
We currently at Glenshielling caravan park Nottingham road natal and will be here untill the end of January, rates stay the same throughout the year.
Exploring the Drakensburg and Lesotho from here then heading slowly towards Zimbabwe over the next 2 years.
two roads diverged in a wood and i took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.
Dankie Brain vir julle ook. Ons ry maar hierdie jaar Desember met Jan Tuisbly se karretjie. Maar gaan darem die 2de week in Januarie 2025 wegbreek Loskopdam toe.

Safe and happy travels to you all.
We leave mid Jan for our 4 month tour.
Living the dream

Happy and safe traveling to you all. Have a blessed Christmas and happy new year from a 44C Crocodile Bridge.
We plan to do Namibia and Botswana again next year for about 4 months.
Has anyone seen anything about SANParks “Long Stay” discounts in 2025?
Where are you heading Richard?
Groete,
Paul
For many years, during my working career, we had (as usual for employees) the annual Christmas and New Year holidays elsewhere. Expensive, yes, but it was "that time of the Year" when we could rest and (initially) keep the kids happy. After the kids went their own way, we still kept up the tradition - holidaying at Christmas! At least this meant relaxation - even at high cost - at the end of the year.
Then, happiness, retirement!! Now we felt, we could choose our break-away time when it is not so expensive ... and we could stay at home during the festive period. This way we could still enjoy the "break" by going to lunch and dinner, braai, visit places of interest and so forth ....... hah .... what a bore! Decided not to go that route again. Everybody gone and we are sitting at home? No ways! Think this is an inborn thing .....
So, we've been back into the festive and holiday mood for the past couple of years. Camped at Soetdoring for the past three years over this period but decided to venture elsewhere for this year ........ Tava Lingwe!!
Happy Holidays! Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year everyone!!

I have been communicating with a senior person at Sanparks re the expired discounts still showing and the 'missing' 2025. There may not be Long Term discount, they may still be seeing how full/empty they are going to be.
Instead I took advantage of the Black Friday rates .... mostly much better than the Long Term stay and a full month was not required and it covered periods not usually included in the Long Term Stay.
Basically February - KTP (Twee Revieren);
March MZNP;
April Camdeboo enroute to Karoo NP;
and May Bontebok.
We are yet to do Namibia and Botswana.
Living the dream

Well, we're going to Remainia. So, to all of you going caravanning, we wish you all that you wish yourselves and above all, be safe.
Want to hear all about your travels in the new year.
Your strongest weapon is your mind!
And then there's, Power Tools!

Thanks Richard.

Paul
