Cupboard renovation
I bought an old Sprite Escape 1 caravan and would like to re-do the cupboards in the van. Do anyone know of a reputable dealership or carpenter in the Western Cape, that will be able to assist me, to change the layout? Also, is there anything that I should keep in mind when changing the layout and is there anyone out there on this forum that attempted a project like this?
I will appreciate any input in this regard.
Hallo Heidi. Welcome to the forum. Over the years there were a few members that did renovations and changes to their caravans. Some not on the forum any more.
There is one member that build his own caravan "Ski". He can probably give much more information. All I can say is the following:
- Remember that the cupboard sides and walls of the interior helps with the support of the external structure of the caravan. Make sure they are proper and well connected to to the sides and roof of the caravan.
- Planning the interior you must keep weight distribution in mind. Normally the fridge is placed above the axle or very close to it. if its on the right side of the caravan you should compensate with a cupboard across from it on the left.
- You will have a good idea on what you will pack in what part of the caravan during the design. Remember everything adds up in weight no matter how light it is on its own.
Hope there is someone that can guide you with much use full information
