Hi All (or just a fewEQUIPMENT ...)

I am in the process of (or nearly there) buyng a pre-loved CONQUEROR SUPRA 1 model year 2007.

I am unable to get info from Conqueror direct allegedly because of years gone past.

The internet delivers a fat ZERO.

I am also aware that the units sold had different levels of optional equipment, e.g. fridge/freezer, various differing electricals etc .

What I need to know is the BASIC STANDARD EQUIPMENT IN EACH SUPRA. eg when were the independent wheel mountings were introduced, Did all Supra 1 have a watertank fitted.

What are the differences in STANDARD EQUIPMENT between model year 2005 and 2007 ?

HEEELLLLOOOO, ANYBODY KNOWS ??????

I realize that not too many are towing these trailers but hope for some answers.

Sorry...unable to help, but it is strange Conqueror can't help....2007 is not that old?

Conqueror (their sales department) is even unable to give me full dimensions for the trailer. Their excuse is ".....too long ago, must check whether factory has some info...."

As you can see even here we have the age old South African sickness in BEING UNABLE to give a service and a much basic service at that....

Gerd why will you not look at "other" off-road trailers/caravans if that is the way Conqueror is handling your request, what if you need spares or repairs?

NO,I would not look at others and the reasons are very simple:

This morning I had a reply from the marketing guy and it was satisfactory.

The others are equally bad. I remember 5 years ago I bought a second hand Gypsy (I forgot the name but it is the small one ) with the door/lid at the rear.Model year 1994.

I wanted to do some structural modifications and requested drawings from Jurgens/Gypsey but was informed that there were none.......!!!????

My reasons to get the Supra: We are an  elderly couple and will go away for short breaks

for 3 or 4 days fairly often and do not want to wrestle much and long with various canvas awnings.  / covers.Apart from longer excursions to Namibia.

I consider the Supra a very capable off-road trailer and the equipment level on the one I choose is excellent.

Trailers  -  I think- do not need spares or specialized spares  very often, the axle and wheel mountings are quite standard , so is the towbar  and the structure consists  of various metal boxes welded or glued together.

Since I am not going to do Van Zyl's pass with it I am not really worried .

We will do Namibia and Botswana off-road   but within certain parameters , i.e wse are not looking for grade 4 or 5   4x4 trails .

I looked at the Supra 1 a number of years ago as a camping/touring option. The first comment I made was that it would have been nice if there was a big drawer under the bed. Soon after I saw that the Supra 11 came out with a drawer under the bed, in which the additional tent extension could be packed. The nice thing about the Supra was that the bed was inside the trailer, so it is just a matter of zipping the entrance closed, so it suited my lifestyle - quick and easy.

I am speaking under correction, as this was from a number of years ago, but I think the add a room was an additional extra. The water tank was situated between the wheels or just in front of them, as is customary with most of these trailers and was standard, if I remember correctly. The battery and charger with electrics were standard, but I do not think that solar was standard. There was also a standard tap for the water outlet at the back.

For over landing, it would be quicker and easier without the add a room/changing room. I think the add a room can be a little tedious to set up.

Before I decided on the Supra I did quite a lot of research but my overriding desire to have a Supra was the ease of setting up. When in Kruger with my old van I was always amused by watching the trailer guys wrestling with their canvas for more than 1 hour to set up while I just unrolled my Fiamma awning and was sipping a cold beer.We are both elderly in years but still young in action so this trailer will be ideal for us,

Mine is a 2007 model with water tanks, 2x jerry can holders and cans, 2x gas bottle holders and bottles as well as deep cycle battery  with a sort odf switchboard containing battery monitors, circuit breakers and lots of 12V sockets all over plus a 72 l Luna fridge /freezer.

I also looked at a 2005 model and there were no jerry can holders, no fridge and no water tanks. I am not sure what the story about the missing watertanks was but I did not buy in any case. I am just a little sorry that I missed out on a SUPRA 2 at a Conqueror dealer in Jo'burg which went for R 96.000. while I paid for mine R 85.000,- But I have no regrets to get a very nice specimen of Supra1.

I found and bought one in the  meantime (in Pinetown nogal) and the guys there measured the  width and all is fine now. But I also wrote to the factory in Heidelberg and all I got was dead silence.

But I still love the Supra and think that it is a bl...good trailer, definitely for my purposes.

Ek het 'n Conqueror Supra 1 gekoop en moet ernstige timmerwerk doen om haar weer in haar oorspronklike glorie te herstel. Ek het 'n paar vrae en sal dankbaar wees as ek iemand kan kontak wat ondervinding het.

We have a 2012 Supra 2, new to conqueror, as mentioned there is little or no info on this model. just 1 video showing a basic setup with the very large awning, which we have, but  don,t plan on using, seems a bit of a schlep. We do however have 2 other side awning attached to the van, BUT, there is no clear setup instructions anywhere on these. We took the curved side awning bag off the see what it actually looks like, what a hell of a business to slide it back on. So, I am assuming we just fold it out from the roof and then roll\wrestle it back into the bag when we done. Anyone have an easier way of doing this?

The pop up roof, and add a room is quick and easy, its just those side awnings that are giving me the heebies. We leaving for Kgaligadi end of month and reckon we will need the side awnings so we dont melt into the Kahlahari sand. Please help if anyone has advice re this?
