Hi there ...... help!

I fitted Solar to my house ... works a charm, but I have an extra question:

When heavily overcast with lengthy Power failures, the possibility exists that my Solar battery may run low.

We have attempted to charge this battery via my 7,6 kVA generator, but although this supposed to be a UPS, the frequency varies too much to charge my 5,1 kW battery. My guy tried everything from changing Frequencies, and Amperage but to no avail. The Deye Inverter does not even "see" the genny.

Eventually suggested - sell the present Genny and get one with AFR (Auto Frequency Regulator) - which was suggested by Danie Vrey to actually be an AVR (Auto VOLT Regulator) which will, by keeping revs constant will sort out the Hz.....

Now, do I sell my present genny, or can I fit an AVR to this one (quick answer required - buyer is coming over tonight!)

OR

Do I sell and buy a proper genny with this AVR? Obviously, I don't want to spend money unnecessarily!!!!

How do you guys overcome the problem of charging this Solar battery during such periods?

Agree  I have 31 off  660 watt panels and by 8 in the morning I  generate 4 kw power

Maybe add more panels and an extra battery. Don't have the geysers / stove on during these periods. 

Thanks guys, but my question actually relates to occasions where my panels canNOT charge due to heavy rain, heavily overcast and where - to complicate matters - Eishkom is off for a number of days ....

I have, however, done some Google searching as well, and it seems (according to other Solar users in the same dilemma) that an inverter generator is the one to go for.

Next question then on this one - apparently such an inverter generator of 3,2 kVA will be sufficient to charge a 5,1 kW battery, although somewhat slowly 

Any comments or suggestions?

Ek sou, gedurende hierdie son-lose dae, bloot net 'n gewone charger(220volt), wat boost en float funksie het op battery-bank koppel.

Ander konneksies op battery-bank eers verwyder.
