Cederburg mountains
07 Jan, 2023 @ 13:46:00 pmWhat routes / roads would you recommend to traverse the Cederberg mountains from Clan William to Ceres. [ we have a 4x4 ]
two roads diverged in a wood and i took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.

07 Jan, 2023 @ 15:20:05 pmAs a boy scout, in standard 9, we spent a week in the Cedarberg.
From boating on Clanwilliam dam to sleeping on top of Sneewberg hiking down past The Maltese Cross. Hiking up the Wolfberg cracks along the plateau to Crystal pools and the Needles down to Algeria, great memories.
We were transported on those mountain roads to various starting points.
Driven past on the N7 many times without going back in....

08 Jan, 2023 @ 16:06:35 pmIf you are towing, I suggest you consider the Citrusdal route. My son did the Algeria route with a gravel roader caravan, and because of the road surface strongly advises against it. For long stretches, he had to keep to 20 kph. Not funny!

No our travels to the Cape is basically over as my wife parents are now staying with us in Centurion.
Well how do they say....................... an opportunity MISSED.

No our travels to the Cape is basically over as my wife parents are now staying with us in Centurion.

Die verskoning kan mos weer dat jy jou Kaap kuiers mis. Ek gaan hoeka nou Mrt weer af Dwarswegstrand toe. Verblyf vir 14 dae R5684 in grondvlak alleenstaande woonstel. Sleep nie eers karavaan af.

Jou verblyf uitgawes is waarskynlik gekykstaande aan die ekstra brandstof en oorslaap uitgawes wat 'n karavaan teweeg sou bring indien jy van Gauteng af en terug Kaap toe sou sleep.

10 Jan, 2023 @ 11:56:15 amMoenie vir 'n enkele kampie gaan nie- maak dit 'n toer. Ons land is baie interessant en dis die moeite werd om oral te stop en te verken. Ons beplan om teen die einde van die maand Weskus langs Suidkaap toe te ry. Dis 'n ompad, maar dis deur en deur die moeite werd. Ons dink dit sal seker so twee weke neem om daar uit te kom in teenstelling met drie dae as ons haastig is. 'n Toer is wat ons betref, juis die beste manier om te kamp eerder om net na Punt B te ry en vir 'n paar weke daar te bly. Die gesprekke oor onder andere die Cereberge, het ons net weer meer opgewonde gemaak oor die toer.
Het is beter rijk te leven dan rijk te sterven
