Can someone reccommend a camping site close or at Parys. Someone that has been there recently.

Big enough for an exclusive

Dimalachite river resort - green lawns with river front sites for fishing and some shade.  Ablusion is outdated but clean.  Dirt road was fair but we took it slow with a Sprite Swing and 4 x 4 vehicle. They allowed day visitors for fishing and river rafting, when booking specify that you need privacy without a day visitor site next to you.  Last time visited was Dec 2019.  

Try Casa Cara .......go for the campsite on the river edge (10 stands in total)

(There are fairly large stands around the pool as well, but I will certainly recommend the former).

HUGE, and with private ablutions, dishwashing facilities, and a private little pathway to the river edge for a sundowner or fishing if you like.

To get there turn right opposite the small airport on the left., and first road (900 meters) turn left. Admittedly the road does have some corrugations, but if you travel slowly, no damage to the Exclusive!! The camp is about 12 kilometers from Parys, so come visit the various lekker eateries and quaint shops as well!

No need for me to say "enjoy your stay" as I know you will!!

Welcome to Parys!!

 

We camped at Eastco about 2 years ago for a weekend. Nice Stands next to the river for fishing or just to listen to the water flowing over the rocks, some birdlife as well.

Ablutions were clean and well maintained.

Road to the resort was a gravel road, not in a bad condition with some corrugated patches.

Management very hands on. There were a few youngsters camping with 2 x tens, but more brandy than manners and the next morning very early we saw them packing with the owner overseeing them leaving the resort - after they also cleaned up their stand - picking up the empty bottles. 

I can really recommend Weltevrede. Neatest resort with stands on paving under roof, hands on management.  Great midweek pensioner discount out of season. Will be going there later this month.

Weltevrede is a very nice park .Big Pavingstand ,under shadenets on the banks of the Vaalriver, very good fishing spot  .Neat ablusions .The road is a gravel road, about 2.5 km but if you take it slow it is ok .

Camped somewhere there with oom Johan from Bloemfontein.  Cannot remember the farm or resort name.

Enjoyed it a lot.  Specially the visit to Parys town with the various stalls and shops

Leon, ek glo dit was by Deo Valente waar jy saam met Oom Johan gekamp het. Ablusies is maar so-so, en jammer om te sê, steeds nie aan te bevele nie ...

decamped at Weltevrede last Sept - Oct for 10 days can definitely recommend this campsite. Link to post with pictures.

Dis reg ja, Dankie Nico.  Ja die ablusie geriewe kan verbeter word.  Maar dit was okay vir my gewees want my wa wat ek toe gehad het was 100% toegerus.  Ek self sal weer daar gaan kamp maar Ma sal dit 'n mis gee.

Gaan google Umfula Lodge net buite parys, 5 ster ablusies, winkel, swembaddens etc.
