Battery recommendation
I'm in the market for a 102A deep cycle battery , [ the one in the van is giving up ] What have you had experience with , what would you recommend. There are so many brands out there.
What smart charger do you use to charge the battery, the Hercules 10 gave up a while back , i have a normal 12V charger on at the moment which I have to turn on and of .
two roads diverged in a wood and i took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.

For me if I were a permanent camper I would go Li po4 battery with Victron charger not cheap but it will last. A group of us (4) all bought inverters with 100Ah Gel / LA for TV and DSTV and all have had to replace our batteries within 8 months . I hear so many people who say their system works well but don`t tell you for how long. These GEL /LA batteries just have to go below 50% once and they are damaged. I have a Revov 200Ah and after 2 hrs using a 55inch TV it has reached 83% ,no DSTV or Wi Fi connected so if you have 4hrs load shedding you would probably end up less than 60% . If you can monitor your battery accurately you should never go below 70% if you want it to last ( except Li Po4 ) these can be discarged much lower. The APP on the Revov is accurate and tells you % discharge, time to fully charge and number of cycles. I have spent over R9000 rand in the last 8 months , I should have bitten the bullet and gone for Li Po4
