I saw a 1999 Penta for R75k. Will it be wise to buy such an experienced caravan? What red flags would I need to look out for?

The price is good, depending on condition. The selling price for my 2001 model was in that price region with only one owner and only paid R15k for it, because the owner of the Penta was looking for a smaller caravan and we bigger for permanent camping, therefore I sold my 1994 Sprite Swift for R60k to him, which I only paid for the Swift R35k and spend another R3k on it.

Mainly what to observe on a Penta in that models:-

- Feel the interior wall, door and roof paper as well as the exterior "pop-up" roof paper, appart from the "pop-up" serrounding.

Those models up to 2002 were populer for abovementioned for comming loose.

I redone our interior walls, roof and door with Jurgens Grey after removing wall and roof papers and outside serrounding roof with normal black.

Also then: Look for a crack in the middle outside above the door, which I do not have.

If there is another panel, accept the normal panel: Bells are ringing due to a possible crack.

Normally, inspect the Van for Woodrot etc...

Otherwise, the Penta is spacious for a family up to 2x adults and 2x minors, depending on tent size.

We are only 2x adults, my wife and I and we had our side tent converted into the modern L-Shape.

My suggestion is get someone with knowledge to inspect the caravan with you. You do not indicate where you and the caravan are but if you that and ask on this Forum  one of the members with knowledge might offer to do this. We like to help each other. If all is in order the price is a bit high in my opinion but acceptable. And by the way, welcome on the Forum.

In Bela-Bela is an idial permie Rebuild 2005 model Classique for R30k.

Unfortunately: No Papers, suitable for permies, but not for camping now and then.

I viewed the Van and for my point of view: Excellent, accept for no papers.
