Hi guys
Has anyone taken their caravan to Injisuthi Camp site? We due to go in December for Christmas and are not sure if our Gypsy Caravette 6 will get there or if we should just camp by tent. We have a double cab Ford Ranger 4x4.
We are not so worried about the potholes as we've just gone to Glengarry and there were loads of potholes on that road.
Many thanks
Heard the campsite had burnt down. Is that not the case?
When we drove there with our Sherpa many years ago the road was full of potholes but driveable. Dont know recently.
I also heard they burnt down, well a part of it did. They did take our booking for December 23-29 with no hassles so hopefully all is fine.
Correct that staff quarters were burnt, however to the best of my knowledge, not the campsite. You are aware that there are no power points? Unless roads have been repaired, I would not consider a Caravette suitable. No problem with an Off Roader though. Beautiful spot. Enjoy.
Regarding no electricity, that's no problem for us. Have use solar panels and gas. Led battery strip lights as well. We quite used to tenting in places where there's no electricity.
We are however quite new to caravanning.

Thank you for the replies, we called the Injisuthi Office and they said we could take the caravan. We are just worried about the dips on the road inside the reserve. The bakkie will get thru and the nose but we worried about the back of the caravan getting stuck.
How do we get thru road dips? Are there any tricks? Are there any caravan modifications we can do?

Give us feedback once you are back. I also wanted to visit them, but is afraid to tow my caravan on that road
Would also like to camp there again. Our Skipper T Lt will handle the road im sure. Would like some feedback on the camp site and whars burnt down please.
Mooi grond pad. Sedan karre kon daar kom. Ek dink Winterton is baie nader vir winkels. Groetnis
It's beautiful up there. We love to go camping there but have recently bought a caravan that we'd like to take, if possible.
Not wanting to sound stupid, but why not pack a picnic lunch and take a drive to put your mind at rest.
It would make for a lovely outing.
A bit of a drive from Umhlanga for the day. My in-laws have been to look and are concerned about the dips I side the reserve. My husband says we should just go and drive slowly. I thought maybe someone else had been in their caravan as it shows that caravans are allowed on their website and the caravan parks book and the lady on the phone said yes we can take the caravan.
