Is besig om een te soek vir die WilSur groep.
I see we are posting threads under incorrect sections
Auggesting a rally under Recipes and food, although I know we are gonna eat while we are the rally
Forums Main 6. Recipes and Food winterkamp
Hester not pointing a finger - I have done it as well
To top it all I see I cannot spell
Soetdoring Vakansie Plaas in Vereeniging would suite me to a "T". Remember that I have to tow from Pietermaritzburg to a CaravanParks.com Forums Members Rally.
Soetdoring has a heated outdoor pool, game drives and so on. See my recent write up on follow the NBS link above. Also see their website. Follow "Resorts" link above.
This is an excellent resort and I'm sure we could get a good rate for early June. If you guys are keen, I'll get the ball rolling.
Any other suggestions?
I'll be in the Lowveld in June
Agree with Willie .... if I cannot make it, then I may be able to pop in to say "Hi" - 80/90km from me - also not far from Johannesburg.
Can someone suggest a date?
Daar is 'n lang naweek in Junie
Dit lyk vir my na 'n goeie voorstel Willem - vir die wat nog Saterdae moet werk, is daar nog geleentheid om aan te sluit!
I'm happy with the long weekend in June as suggested. Any more Members interested?
Look like we will be in Phalaborwa the weekend visiting the KNP
Do you know how cold Vereeniging is during Winter?
They say if I am not careful, then I will look like my sister.
Seriously, its not that bad .... anywhere in "the old Transvaal" is cold in winter ... just use a heater or cuddle closer.
We don't mind camping in Winter, but then we rather go to Limpopo or anywhere it is warmer during the day. Don't mind the evenings, we have an air con and an electric blanket.
Soetdoring can accommodate us (CaravanParks.com Forums Members Rally) for the week end 14th June - 17th June. (3 nights)
Who is interested?
We need to book at least ten sites.
Can you give us prices please? Seems only two proposals, so far.
Hessie, Wat het jy in gedagte?
I think we must start jumping - the clock is not waiting for us!
I can confirm what Hessie says and add additional info.
We were there for the long week end in December @ R80 per night (3 nights atR240) and again two week ends ago at R100 per night, both with caravan clubs. Over both week ends we had lovely breakfasts - the last was pap, mince, eggs, bacon, sausage, tomato, toast with margarine and jam (first was similar).
16 km south of Three Rivers (Vereeniging).
Within secured fencing.
Cold water swimming pool wit separate splash pool. Large thatch roof alongside.
More than one hall to accomodate more than one group, in need.
Large braai's designed for groups. No shortage in sites - truly a large grassed area.
A small portion of sites have less grass due to trees, but mainly well grassed and not cramped. Other accomodation also available.
Small shop ...I found this a bit inconvenient, due to placement and having to basically order from the outside (probably a security issue).
I learnt at a late stage they have an urn on all day for a help yourself coffee (not sure if there is tea etc) with milk and sugar.
I think I have placed some photo's elsewhere on the forum, but if required can place on this thread.
Having been there twice, I have no hesitation in recommending and I will certainly go again, if the time and opportunity arise again.
If you are looking for a warmer area, I would recommend consideration oof Silwer Vis in Brits, but am aware some don't like it due to an isolated shooting there whilst still Trans-Magalies. I personally cannot understand why this stigma has remained. Afterall, if I pull out a gun, how can the resort be blamed?

Please: Let's keep everything on that thread regards the CaravanParks.com Forums Members winter rally.
