has anyone had any experience at the three parks at port alfred, green fountains [ has come recommended ] , medolino, unknown to me, and willows , appears to be a municiple park, we are going through to port alfred tomorrow to do a recce on the three, however any input from those in the know is always appreciated . its coming to that time again, end of next month our 6 months is up here at yellows,

two roads diverged in a wood and i took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.

The choice is between Green Fountain and Medolino in Port Alfred. The private bathroom is main attraction at Green fountain. You could also have a look at Cannon Rocks , which is 40km further from Port Alfred. It has 5star bathrooms. You are likely to have the place to yourself, it’s not popular with full timers.

Please give feedback on your trip.

was at port alfred today and checked out the three parks,

WILLOWS: had two campers there and a few permanents, we spoke to one of the campers who was only there for 2 nights and they seemed happy, the park was a lot overgrown and when speaking to the lady [ who was very pleasant ] and who appears to manage the park  for the municipality said that was due to lock down and no staff, however the overall state of the park, the park rates, and its location would be an attraction for campers from the far side.

MEDOLINO : again another park that was way out of shape as far as the ground maintainence goes, or in this case did not go. there was no one around to speak to but again we assume lock down and no staff may be the reason. [ we not convinced its a valid reason but hey, everyone uses it ]  there were a number of permanents and one camper,  however the campsites are the size of postage stamps, they really small and would not suit our set up.[ and we thought margate had small sites  ]

GREEN FOUNTAINS: i wonder how it got that name ,because there is nothing on the outset that we can see that would echo that name, however what we did immediatly  pick up on the outset was a well maintained park with the grounds very much in trim. 4 large sites placed around a central ablution block , each site has its own toilet, bath and shower. and there is quite a lot of those quartets , and after walking around and speaking to a few of the campers there, we paid the deposit and booked our site, we arrive there 1st aug for a 6 month stay.

we also had a quick look in at the marina and spoke with the harbour master and we also visited the ski boat club, we looking forward to the harbour launch from either side.
two roads diverged in a wood and i took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.

Good to recce the parks first so that you make an informed decision.

Enjoy the balance of your stay and good luck with the move.
