Fip&Tilla probably have their own views on this, but,
Dealing with drunk people in the middle of the night will normally not pay dividends, so the only way around that, at this time of night, is through Park management, who are supposed to act if they have rules in place.
When are you people getting to Yellow Sands ?
You can maybe send them an email as well. Go to their web and you will obtain their email addresses if they do not answer on the forum.
While we wait for Flip and Tilla here is my 5c.
The longest period we were Full Timers was close on 3 years. Another period was 2 years so I can relate approx 5 years experience over many parks.
I can count the bad experiences that really irked me on one hand. How did I handle them as each was unique.
I have let it slide and the problem sorted itself out.
I have spoken to the offenders in a friendly manner and they normally accommodate you.
If the problem persists or is alcohol related I call security or Management.
Commenting on your recent experience I think you did the right thing not to get involved in someone else's fight.
We hope out paths will cross at some stage - always a pleasure to meet other fulltimers and learn from their experienses.
We prefer smaller resorts, where the owners are involved in management, always have less trouble at them.
Where something bodder us and the people involved are sober, we will chat to them and discuss the problem in a friendly manner. We normally have no problem in solving whatever was boddering us.
We do not speak to, associate or argue with drunken campers or visitors. We call security, management or owners to resolve the matter and if not sorted call the cops.
Do not get involved.
I only know of one ring road, that turns down near the Police station, which curves west a little lower down, after which you turn left (south then south east) towards the road entering Umtata from the south.
This however does not exclude the speed bumps entering Umtata from the south (where this road joins the road entering the city from the south). It also goes past the Taxi Rank, just below the Police Station. Over-all, you still go through a big and busy section of the town. I will be seeing someone over this coming week-end for a braai, who should be able to give me a better update on any other outer ring roads, which MAY bypass the city center completely. Just remind me, if I forget...
Hoop ek ry hulle ook nog eendag raak.
Baie aangename mense. Moet hulle asseblief nie "raak ry" nie Chuck.
