where can I get information on the aerodynamic wing / aerofoils that were available some years back, these devices were fitted to the tow vehicle and were intended to deflect air over the caravan, were there any tests conducted on these devices and what were the results. I would love to get hold of coppies of any information regarding these devices.my e mail ad is zs6wc@yebo.co.za

Hi William,

It was called a wind deflector.  I still have one and I dont tow without it.  Unfortunately I cannot photograph it in motion, but if I use my bakkie with the tonneau cover without the wind deflector, the back of the cover just before the tailgate have a big dent in it.  If I use it with the wind deflector, the tonneau cover looks like a blown up baloon over the load body not even touching the bar across the middle.  My bakkie is also lighter on fuel and my caravan tow much easier.  I am busy investigating the possibility to manufacture (registered patents and so forth) but in the meantime I can send you a photo of this.  Obviously if there are patents registered, I will steer clear of manufacturing allthough I made mine myself about 20 - 25 years ago and I still have the mould.  You can contact me at pietp@telkomsa.net or 082 967 4133 Regards
