Hi I tow a Supersport with a 2.5 Petrol Nissan Xtrail, and currently use a Yellow blade. I have been advised to use Tando, but after towing twice to KZn with Yellow blade with no problem, I am now questioning which is better. Some say the Yellow blade is on the 1000kg limit, Trapezium Develoments say they have a safty factor so I should have no problem, A caravan store advised the Tando is better than Yellow blade. I did have a fishtail with my combi and supersport with an old Tando, and due to go to the coast in 10 days I am undecided as to which is the better option. I have also been advised the Tando works differently to yelloblade as flex is on the Towball - which is supposedly better. As you can see I am in a bit of a quandry as to which is the better unit. Obviously packing is the most critical, but I still like to have, and have always towed with a stabiliser. Any advice would be appreciated. many thanks Selwyn 0832860726 selwyn@dunlopindustrial.co.za

Hi I have been towing with a Tando the last 10 years and never had a problem it is true that certain makes have limit regarding weight. I feel if your yellow blade is working fine for you keep it. I belong to a small caravan club and we have a mixture of Tandos and Yellow Blades no one ever could ay the one is better that the other. If I am correct on one of the forums there was a talk topic Yellow Blade or Tando will try a locate it Camp Greeting Dick

Hello Selwyn By now you would have returned from your holiday but for what it is worth I tow a Penta with a 2.2 diesel X Trail and use a Yellow Blade stabiliser. I shall not bore you with the detail of my investigations which led me to choose the yelloblade, but I am very happy with the towing combination. I have towed the van on a 2500 km round trip to the Kruger through storms and serious cross winds without a single anxious moment. The combination was very stable prior to the fitment of the stabiliser anyway but agree that it adds to one's peace of mind. Let me know how you went. Kind regards Angus
