1. I connect solar panels to the caravan via the plug at the front of the caravan but it does not charge the battery.

2. If I connect the plug directly to the battery in the caravan with clamps it does charge it!

3. I f I connect the 220volt to the caravan the battery monitor show a indication of over charge on the monitor by flashing the top 3 lights green. I tested the battery while show this over charging an I found that the reading is in the excess of 15 to 16 volts, so if I correct in observation it does over charge the battery?

4. Can any body help me in this regard, please!

Please install a solar-controller between the battery and the solar panels.

Yes your 220Vcharger is over charging. Rather see if you can disconnect it until repaired. Check for a charger fuse or disconnecter. If on long enough you can destroy the battery and you might get the sulphuric smell.

Hi

It is possible that the 220v charger's voltage regulator is faulty and needs replacement. the solar connection may have n fuse or there may be a loose connection. i would also recommend a solar regulator as it regulates the charging voltage and stops the charging when the battery is full.
