Which Sealant?
I am busy replacing one of my fixed windows on my Sprite Scout. I have used standard silicone for various sealing tasks and it works reasonably well. However my van stands in the open, under a cover and the heat tends to melt the sealant somewhat. There are many products on the market and I would like some input as to which brand of sealant to use that can withstand temperatures of above say 50 oC. Many thanks.
Don't use silicone. Use sikaflex F 11
I agree Silicone eventually starts peeling off then you back to square 1
Thanks Fienie. I’ll try that thank you.
Yes you should use the Sikaflex product specially the one with UV protection. Its also available at Chamberlains and Builders Warehouse. You get them in black and white.
GOD IS ALTYD TEENWOORDIG
Sonder Jesus is ek niks! ! ! !
Thanks Leon. There is a Builders near me so I'll go there and get Sika F 11. They have other products in the Sika range at Builders. The information on the label seemed to indicate that it is a good product to use. I'm glad that Fienie indicated the variant to use.
There is only one and that is Sika.
Normal silicone consist of acetone in it.
