What a weekend, it was an eating frenzy. We went
away with the Trekkers Recreational Club - laager 1, this weekend. Our club
hosted another club, SACC. Friday night we had a combination braai, with salads
to die for, supplied by Trekkers members. Saturday night we had the biggest
Irish stew I have ever seen. (Trekkers supplied) and puddings afterwards
supplied by SACC. There were so many you did not know what to have, so it landed
up a spoon full of each. Sunday morning tea was a combination of cakes like you
have never seen. Even the Edward Hotel would have been put to shame.
Other than the three hours of gale force winds
and a little rain the weather was perfect. The winds and rain was when the
Sharks were playing so we all disappeared and watch the game. The hotel next to
the Karridene Caravan Park has cabled D.S.T.V. to each site in the caravan park.
We cuddled up in our bed and watch the game while our caravan rocked from the
"wind". Other people all collected together where ever they could find a TV and
watched the game. Once the wind dropped we all got together again. There were 27
caravans/tents/trailer campers altogether. It was a very social weekend and we
met a lot of new fantastic people. Now to get rid of the extra pounds I am sure we have gained.
