Hi everyone.

We will be planing a future trip from Durban to White River to visit family there. We would like to make it an extended tour and not have to travel straight there and back. We would like to go and see placed on the way. Maybe stop at 2 to 3 places on the way up and and three places on the way back home. We don't have to necessary go in a direct line to get there but would like advice on places of interest.  We are thinking of taking the tent and trailer this time as we have a 3M inflatable boat and would like to visit some places that we can launch the boat as well. If we decide to take the caravan we can still deflate the boat and transport it in the caravan.  Please can you give us ideas as we have never camped these areas. We have been to Milalane but went through Swaziland, also been to Mozambique but never traveled in the intended direction.

Regards Neil and MArg

You can consider making a stop at Ntshingwayo Dam (Chelmsford) near Newcastle. Visit some of the battlefields and drive the passes close by.

Another nice dam is Utrecht Dam. Much smaller than Chelmsford.

Long time since I have been at both so I cannot comment on the current condition of the facilities.

I think Charter's Creek is open again for camping and maybe Fanies Island, both not far past Mtubatuba, also Lister Point at False Bay in the Hluhluwe area, All are good grunter fishing.

Then there's Jozini Dam further north for tiger fish.

Bahati, near Hluhluwe has is own mini game reserve and Bonamanzi camp site it across the road.

Then there's Ithala Game reserve near Utrecht.

Do a bit of a google on Isimangaliso and Ezemvelo camp sites.

Your strongest weapon is your mind!
And then there's, Power Tools!
