I have this problem with all the tent ropes that came with my van.
We only use 6 from the about 12 that we got with the van .
yesterday whist packing up I thought why don't I just take a small length of string and tie the eyelets all together of those short ones that we always use together and then when we set up camp again I just need to take those out and leave those other long ones in the bag .
I find it frustrating everytime I am looking for the short ones I seem to get the long ones :-)

Hi Trevor. I only take what I need with. I have removed all extras out of my bags(one for pegs, one for ropes etc etc). I have also marked the ropes I use with the same coloured tape I use for my poles so we never have the problem of which goes where either. I usually also do a one rope plat which make the storing of ropes very neat and easy.

If you need to, take another bag with for the extra ropesand mark it as such so you dont get mixed up. I have a 30m roll of rope, extra eyelets and other goodies in a bag that always goes with, so if needs be I make up a length or two of rope as required.

Always only take what I need. Got one bag for the Rally so all I need to setup the rally is in there even a extra rubber malet.

Another bag for the main tent.  Same story. If i use both during a long trip both bags go along.

Easiest way to get it sorted for me.

Baie dankie vir al bogenoemde raad. Toue is altyd 'n frustrasie.

Camping tents are necessary for an outdoor trip. It's not that easy to set it up with right tents ropes, but i like to use camping hammock which Suspended between two trees. In this way, it's easy to get rid of those nasty bugs on the ground in a jungle camping trip.

Hi Trevor. I firmly beleive that you need as much roping as possible.

I normally keep a small plastic bag stocked with eye lids and a another small bag with a 30 meter rope in my nose box. I can cut the rope to what ever size I need.

Two years back right on beach front the wind tested my camp. If it was not for that extra rope then I was in serious trouble. I dit not camp with any storm nets or devices to secure a tent but with my extra rope I was ok

Enjoy your camping, best of luck
