Hi CAMPERS. I HAVE RECENTLY BOUGHT A SPRITE SUPERSPORT CARAVAN.I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT I SHOULD PUMP THE CARAVANS TYRES (14") TO 2.8 BAR, IS THIS THE CORRECT PRESSURE FOR TOWING?I NOTICED THAT AFTER TOWING FOR A WHILE THE PRESSURE GO'S UP TO 3.5 BAR. IS THIS A SAFE TOWING PRESSURE, PLEASE ADVISE.HAPPY CAMPING. STEPHEN.

Hi, Stephen On the side of my van is marked not to pump the Tyres to more than 2.6 Bar, I would suggest that you look at the manufactures specification for yout particular van Greetings Anton

Forget about the sticker by the manufacturer saying 2.6 bar, this is too low in most instances for a loaded caravan. Go for as high as the tyre rating allows (pressure ratings are always for cold tyres). If the tyres are normal car types you can go as high as 3.0 bar and if you have commercial or bakkie tyres you should be able to go to 4.0 bar, my Fleetline L has commercial tyres and I pump them to about 3.2 bar which I find aids stability and allows the tyres to run cool.

THANKS JORG. SO IF I PUMP MY TYRES ON MY CARAVAN TO 2.8 - 3.0 BAR, IT SHOULD BE SAFE. I FIND THAT MY CARAVAN TOWS VERY WELL AT THIS PRESSURE.I WAS JUST WORRIED ABOUT THE PRESSURE CLIMBING WHEN TOWING AND THE OUTSIDE TEMP IS HIGH.THANKS AGAIN FOR THE ADVISE.

Stephen Remember to pump your rear tyres of your towing vehcile at the same pressure than the tyres of your van. This will also supply more towing stability. I have found that 3,0 bar is sufficient. Regards Johanvv
