Good Day would like some advice on spare wheel placement on Penta. The AIRCON is in the nose and spare wheel under the bed at the back of the caravan. The full tent with sides are also stored under the bed and spare wheel right at the back under the bed.

Just some suggestions and advice will be appreciated. I have been traveling like this with no issues but some say put it in the front and some say leave it at the back.

Any advice will be appreciated.

I tow with a DC and i lower my DC spare wheel and place the caravan spare under the DC wheel crank it up and of we go at the resort i just remove it if i go travel ect or els I leave it as is until i get back home.

I do not have a clearance problem with it at the back it is just my spare wheel lock does not cover two wheel.

Sonder Jesus is ek niks! ! ! !

I have a Penta.

Had the spare on a bracket right in front of the nosebox. Everytime I needed to open the nose, I had to move the spare out of the way. It became a schlepp.

I then had a bracket fitted just behind the axle and now carry the spare under the van.

Punctures on a road van is an exception. Should I experience one, I will do the necessary to get the spare from under the van. I will probably complain afterwards, but that will also pass.

The spare wheel of our Gypsey Regal is also just behind the axle under the caravan.

I have a caravan since 1989 and had my first (and only) mishap earlier this year.

When I got my Penta, the spare wheel and the tent was all under the bed at the back. It is a great storage space, but towing it like that made it extremely unstable.

Then moved the spare to under the table and the tent under the bench seats. This worked for a while but became a problem when pitching camp. Just too many things to open and move around.

So now made a bracket for the wheel in the nosecone so it does not move around and putting the tent ontop of the table.

Under the bed is the ground netting, gas geyser, empty water cans and some plastic basins for washing ect.

Tows like a dream now.

If my nosecone was now occupied with an airconditioner, I would move the spare back under the bed. There it is out of the way but still easily accessible in an emergency. But, I would be wary to also pack the tent or any other heavy stuff under the bed.
