When we camped at Mt Splendour a month ago i managed to put an elbow through the counter top of my model T cupboard. I arranged to take the Skipper to Reinhart to have the top repaired today and he did the repair and reinforcing whilest we went to the Scottburgh Spur for breakfast.
When i wanted to pay for the repair as quoted and for a pin to hold the lid leg in place (lost one) he would not accept payment and did the job for free. Its not often you get excellent after sales service like this from local manufacturers. Thank you Reinhart, you all really stand behind your product.
Well done Skipper

A lot of complaints have been lodged against South African caravan manufacterers, especially Jurgens, but from Skipper I have heard only praise. What a ray of sunshine in a world of mediocracy!
Second time I have been back to them for repairs, first time was for a cupboard door that came off and needed reinforcing. They just get on with it and do the job whilest you go out and have breakfast, nothing is too much of a bother to them. Reinhart and Robbie also stand by their product and guarantee the trailers and say they will fix them up anytime in the future if there is a problem. Knowing the way caravans can rot that is comforting to hear.
I have sold my old Skipper but before that the tent roof section was looking terrible. Bad mould and dirt spots. I decided that it would be better to get my price if I sold it with a new roof. I contacted Jenny who arranged a courier to pick up the old one as a template as they have not made the model I had for about 7 years. Got the new one back within 2 weeks at R800 less than was quoted as they could re-use a couple of zips and panels. It fitted perfectly and contributed hugely to a quick sale.
Their customer service is outstanding.
Interestingly Skipper does not give a written guarantee which I wondered about and now I can understand why. They are not willing to support their product for a limited period of time only, but stand behind it indefinately. How many manufacturers give you that amount of peace of mind?
There's one for sale in the classified , it's marked under Kipper, but photos show Skipper
